Aussie Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Hey guys!

I mentioned in a really early post that the Aussie brand shampoos and conditioners have literally saved my hair from obliteration.

I first heard of Aussie through the YouTube advertising they did so many years back and I wondered what the hype was all about. I was pretty sure it was going to be another overpriced and overhyped product that did nothing for my hair.

But for a Christmas present a few years ago, I got a Love2Shop voucher and decided to pick up a bottle of the Winter Miracle shampoo just to see what the fuss was about. Plus I wasn’t spending my money on a bottle of £6 shampoo so hey, it was all good.

Since then, I’ve not used any other shampoo except for Aussie shampoos and conditioners and my hair has thanked me for it! They may be on the more pricey side but many shops do 3 for £10 on the smaller bottles so I go and pick up a fresh supply when I run dry because these offers do appear quite regularly.

I’ve used many different Aussie shampoo and conditioner ranges and what I used depends on what my hair needs at the time. I’ve used the Winter Miracle range, the Colour Mate range, the Aussome Volume range and some of the leave in conditioning sprays and 3 Minute Miracle deep conditioning treatments.

In this post, I’m going to review all of the ranges and products I’ve used from Aussie and hope that I can bring you to the down under with me!

For reference, my hair is just below shoulder length and has been treated with colours but at the moment, my hair is pretty much my natural dark brunette. I do sometimes get really greasy roots and dry ends but since having all my split ends taken off from last year’s bleach damage, my hair has looked and felt a lot healthier.

Aussie Winter Miracle Shampoo & Conditioner

As I said, this is the first shampoo I tried and since then, I’ve gone on to buy it again when Superdrug had it on offer. I love the smell of it first of all and you don’t need much to do a full shampoo so a bottle lasts forever!

I’ve never used the conditioner yet but the shampoo leaves my hair feeling soft and less dry during the winter months. It only took one wash to notice the difference in my hair and even my mum could tell the difference!

This product comes out around mid-October and I’ve been able to buy it until February but don’t hold me to that! My big bottle lasted me from the January to well into the April of the same year so don’t worry about getting value for money!

Aussie Colour Mate Shampoo & Conditioner

This is the shampoo and conditioner that I have been using for the longest time because when I dye my hair (which I used to do far too frequently) it keeps the colour in really nicely. I do struggle to find shampoos that don’t strip my hair of the colour but this really enhances and prolongs the life of the colour.

The products smell like peaches and my mum was forever telling me that my hair smelt nice and asking me what I was using. Not only did my hair smell nice, it looked nice and healthy and shiny like the hair you’d see in a commercial.

Even though my hair isn’t dyed currently, I am still working through a large bottle of the Colour Mate shampoo. I like to do two shampoos and I now use Colour Mate for the first shampoo then use my other shampoo for the second rinse.

I do recommend this for people with coloured hair that want to get the most out of their colour.

Aussie Reconstructor 3 Minute Miracle

Although there is no cure to split ends aside from cutting them all off, this 3 Minute Miracle helped me to make my split ends look less gross until I could afford for them to be cut.

It smells the same as the Colour Mate shampoo and conditioner but has more of a minty smell to it.

I apply it to just the ends of my hair and leave it to sit for 3-5 minutes while I wash my body. This also helped to remove knots from my hair and make it easier to manage. With the amount of bleach damage my hair endured last year, this was the miracle it needed to make my hair look a little more tame and looked after.

Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo & Conditioner

This is my current combo along with my first rinse of colour mate. You may remember I bought it for my Birmingham Shopping Haul and since then, I’ve used it only a few times. Why’s that? Well, I’ve not had to wash my hair as much!

I still shower of course but my hair stays cleaner for longer and no longer gets greasy after 2 days. The longest I’ve gone without washing my hair is 5 days with this shampoo and it has only then started to look greasy. I don’t mind leaving my hair a few days with no wash because I know that I’m no longer stripping the natural oils out as much and as a result, my hair is softer and is actually growing faster.

This combo does bring volume to my hair without making it frizzy. Volume is something I lack during the winter months so my hair looks limp and gross but now, I have advert worthy hair every day! It smells more earthy than sweet and fruity but it’s not an unpleasant smell.

I would definitely recommend this if you have limp hair during winter because IT DOES WORK!

Aussie Miracle Moist Leave In Conditioning Spray

I also bought this in my Birmingham shopping haul but haven’t really used it yet. I’ve used it once or twice when my ends were starting to look dry and yes, it did pick them up and look glossy once again.

The only negative is that I have thick hair so to get a decent amount of product in my hair, I need to use a lot of product which means the bottle will be used faster so at the moment, I’m not using it so much.

The times I have used it though have been really good so this may be something I use only when needed but really enjoy.

I really did think these shampoos and conditioners would be overhyped but actually? I think they’re worth the hype and great products. Yes, I will only buy them when on offer but I have struggled to find other shampoos that make my hair quite as soft or in quite as good condition.

What do you think? Have you ever used Aussie products and if so, what do you think of them?

Lots of Love,

Melanie-Jessica x
