Although I’ve not been tagged to do this, I recently saw Alice’s Happy Wonderland write a Christmas tag post and I’ve decided to answer the question here on my blog (because honestly? I’m struggling for a post!!)
What’s Your Favourite Christmas Movie?
Has to be National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation! Every year we watch this as a family on December 1st and it gets funnier and funnier each year.
I also quite like the first Nativity film with Martin Freeman but find the other films to not be quite as good or not quite as funny… which is a shame because the first film is cracking.
Ever Had A White Christmas?
A couple of years ago my family went to stay with my gran in Scotland and we had a proper white Christmas with real deep snow and temperatures of -16!
I don’t remember having a white Christmas at home in the south though so I guess it’s probably cheating if I wasn’t at home?
Where Do You Usually Spend The Holiday?
At home. Only ever been away for one year and that was to stay with my gran in Scotland. We always spend Christmas day alone as just me, my parents and sister and that’s fine for us.
What Is Your Favourite Christmas Song?
You can read my list of my top 5 Christmas songs HERE but for those who don’t want to read, it’s 100% the original version of Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas?
Do You Open Any Presents On Christmas Eve?
Nope. None at all. All presents get opened on Christmas Day and I can’t ever think of a time where that has been different.
Can You Name All Of Santa’s Reindeers?
Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph, Prancer
Which holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
My mum’s sausage meat stuffing! She only makes it at Christmas and I swear down it’s the best thing in the entire world! Sausage meat stuffing sandwiches on Boxing Day? Yes please.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake because we don’t like how the needles shed from real trees and we have a cat and wouldn’t want him getting the needles in his foot. We also like fake trees with lights and fiber optics.
What is your all-time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
I mentioned in my Lebkuchen Recipe that nothing really beats Lebkuchen at Christmas and that statement still stands.
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
Receiving… as much as I love buying presents, I hate buying them and stressing out over what to buy someone etc and then worrying that they’ll hate it. Opening presents is less stressful.
What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
Tickets to see Muse at the London O2 Arena. They were VIP tickets and me and dad spent the whole day in London and then saw all their tour gear and got great seats. It was an amazing day for us both.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Back up in Scotland because I love how pretty it is and when it’s snowing, it’s 1000 times prettier. I also enjoy seeing my Scottish family because we don’t see them often and when we do, it’s always special.
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
No matter how hard I try, I fail miserably. Which is unfortunate because I love making my presents look cute.
Most memorable Christmas moment?
Honestly? I don’t think I have one! I’ve sat trawling through my memories and I can’t think of one that stands out the most to me.
I sound like a proper Scrooge!
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
The truth about Santa? What truth about Santa? Is there something I don’t know?????
What makes the holidays special for you?
Now, it doesn’t really feel special because it’s dragged out for a whole month and is so commercialized but I guess the smells of spices and food and being at home, with family, relaxed is the most special part. Nice to know I don’t have to do anything.
Are you excited for Christmas? Let me know!
