Lost For Lippies? – My Picks For Perfect Valentines Lips

Find a guy who will ruin your lipstick, not your mascara.

This seems like a great quote to start this post off with.

This is my first post of a few that will be posted this week, themed around Valentines Day. I wanted to do a weeks worth of content to celebrate the fact that this is my first EVER Valentines Day where I’m properly in a relationship!

Now, I don’t ever believe that you should do something just for your partner so this post should be taken with a slight pinch of salt but the main aim is to tell you my contenders for my favourite Valentines Day lipsticks.

You know, the pinks and reds?

There should be something in here to fit every price range and I’ve only covered the typical Valentines Day lip colours because otherwise this post would be far too long and not too Valentines-y… if that makes any sense at all?

So without further ado, here are my contenders for my perfect Valentines Day lipstick!

The Reds

Lets start with red.

Who doesn’t love a bold red lip?!

Someone who plans on lots of kisses, that’s who!

I personally don’t own any transfer proof red lipsticks and although Designer Blood by Jeffree Star IS red and IS transfer proof, it isn’t snog proof so uh, it loses marks here!

NYX’s Liquid Suede Cream Liquid Lipstick in Kitten Heels is my go to red lippie. It’s a demi matte formula that is long lasting and feels great on the lips. It isn’t too drying and is also very easy to remove. This, for me, is a huge bonus because I don’t like the staining that some lipsticks leave behind. It’s such a comfortable formula and you may remember from the post where I reviewed the entire vault, that I adore these lipsticks.

N07 Pillarbox

My NO7 Match Made Stay Perfect Lipstick in Pillarbox is one that I claimed as a free gift, despite the fact I’m not particularly into stick lipsticks- I’m more a liquid lipstick kind of girl. So on that note, I must point out that I haven’t worn this lipstick much but I do know that it’s highly pigmented and very moisturizing on the lips. I like to apply this lipstick with a brush because I prefer that method of application for precision and I also want to keep this lipstick looking gorgeous and new!

The Pinks

This Valentines Day I think I’ll be wearing pink lipstick and most likely my MAC Liptensity Lipstick in the shade Ginger Rose. My friend Ella bought me this lipstick for Christmas and I LOVE it. As mentioned previously, I don’t tend to like wearing stick lipsticks but this one is more sheer than most and is so incredibly soft on the lips. I do tend to reserve this lipstick for special occasions though because uh, they’re expensive to replace!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in shade Chrysanthemum is a lipstick I am currently LIVING for. I love the shade of pink and the slight metallic sheen it has to it. While yes, it’s drying on the lips, if you use a base coat of lip balm, you won’t suffer chapped lips so much. While yes, this isn’t a totally kiss proof lipstick, it’s less noticeable than the darker shades I own and that’s why it’s made the cut and is on this list.

Morphe Sweets

MAC Ginger Rose

Unfortunately, the Morphe Paint The Town Nude set isn’t available anymore but I am so glad I picked it up because the shade Sweets is my perfect everyday lip shade! Being a demi-matte formula, this lipstick isn’t drying on your lips and I’m not kidding when I say it lasts all day. As I mentioned in my Sleek Lifeproof Foundation review, my working day starts at 5:30 when I wake up and my makeup comes off around 10pm… When I wear this lipstick, I don’t ever have to reapply, even when I’ve eaten. It’s transfer proof and the whole set of three are definitely high scorers in my Favourite Lipsticks League!

What would be your choice of lipstick for Valentines Day? Is there one that you know your partner likes or that you know will go perfect with what you’re wearing? I’d love to know!
