Welcome to the first of the blogger interviews in my ‘Meet The Blogger’ series!
I have 9 bloggers to introduce you to, over the course of the next 9 weeks. Each interview will be posted on a Thursday so keep your eyes peeled!
Today, we have Millie from ModishRambling!
1. Introduce Yourself & Your Blog!
Hello! My name is Millie, I’m a law student with a penchant for all things make up and skincare. I’m also a photographer (with 8 years experience – which is weird to say given I’m barely 22!) so I like to pop in some photo shoots here and there on the blog. But my blog isn’t just image driven, I strive to produce detailed, informative and interesting content which I hope my passion shines through!
2. How Did You Come Up With Your Blog Name?
I remember in high school feeling really fancy when I referred to a literary mode. I wanted a variation thereupon- and modish means what is current and fashionable. Add ramblings- because I’m rambling about latest beauty trends and releases.
3. How Long Have You Been Blogging For & Why Did You Create Your Blog?
I’ve been blogging just over 2 years and I decided to create it during my first year at uni. I ended up dropping out, and embarked on a different course of study entirely at a different uni- so read into that what you will!
4. What’s Your Favourite Thing About Running A Blog?
5. What Have You Learnt From Running A Blog? New Skills? Advice?
I’ve definitely learnt about PR and marketing. It’s not an area I ever thought I’d be interested in but I’ve found I’m loving seeing how it works and seeing just a glimpse at what goes on behind the scenes. Because I’m both a content creator (and so take part in some marketing campaigns) and also a consumer, I personally find it interesting to see both sides of that dynamic. As for new skills, I reckon I’m practically an expert at sounding professional via email now! My advice when it comes to communicating with professionals in the industry is to find a good balance between informal and formal but let your personality shine through- actually, that goes for any kind of professional communication, in any situation.
6. What’s The Hardest Part Of Being A Blogger?
7. If You Had To Give New Bloggers One Piece Of Advice, What Would It Be?
Reach out to people. It’s actually OK to ask for advice, and of course, also to ask for collaborations.
8. What Is Your Favourite Blog Post & What Made It Your Favourite?
I love the pictures; the swatches; and most importantly, the products.
Thank you for taking part Millie!
I can relate to quite a few of Millie’s answers, especially about self discipline!
Go and check out her blog and give her some love on social media!
Lots of Love,
